It is essential to carry out all repairs on the chimney; at the highest point of the roof it is open to all the elements.
The rain eventually weakens the mortar between the brickwork causing it to crack and crumble, usually all that is required is repointing the brickwork to ensure the chimney is stable. The same applies to the chimney pots, these can be re-bedded and secured with new mortar. Cowls can be reattached or replaced.
A small job of re-pointing can help prevent a larger, more expensive job if the chimney is neglected.

Roof Verge Repairs
The verges keep the roof tiles in place at the edge/end of the roof.
Traditionally they were 'wet' mortar fixings, but, over time the changeable weather conditions cause the mortar to crack and crumble. Birds also take advantage of this and build nests, which can cause other problems, including letting insects enter the roof space/loft, and allowing for water ingress.
We clean out the old mortar and replace with new mortar to stabilize the edges of the property.
Ridge Tile Repairs
Traditionally ridge tiles are also secured in place with mortar. Again, with wear and tear and changeable weather the mortar crumbles and the ridge tiles can become loose and unstable. Also allowing for water ingress and damp problems occuring.
We clean out the old mortar and re-bed the ridge tiles for stability.
There are now modern products which are much more beneficial and cost effective, these are dry verge and dry ridge systems, which we also install.

The gutter system plays an essential part in helping to keep your property dry.
